A Fresh, Low-Maintenance Landscape Makeover in West Salem, WI

At Sunshine Services, we love helping homeowners refresh their outdoor spaces—and this front yard project in West Salem was no exception.  Our goal is to truly understand our customer and listen to their goals of their property so we can make sure the result is what they are looking for! Our homeowner in West Salem wanted a cleaner, more modern look with easy-to-maintain materials, and we were happy to deliver.

We began by removing all of the existing river rock and weed fabric from the front half of the house, extending around both corners to the fence line. The rock bed on the right side of the garage was overgrown, so we cleared out old plants and replaced them with low-maintenance options to enhance curb appeal while keeping upkeep to a minimum.

Next, we turned our attention to the front landscape bed, removing dead and undesirable plants to make room for a cleaner look. On the left side of the home, we removed more rock and fabric, then filled in low areas around the egress window to ensure proper drainage and a level surface.

With the old materials cleared, we dug a fresh trench around the beds and installed sleek bullet edgers to define the new landscape border. We then added new weed fabric throughout the beds, carefully working around existing plants to preserve what the homeowner wanted to keep. We repeated this process around the front yard tree for a consistent appearance.

To finish, we installed brand-new river rock over the weed barrier, giving the entire front yard a fresh, updated look. The result? A well-defined, low-maintenance landscape that adds beauty and structure to the property.
